Alice Dolgener, originally from Austin, Texas, now enjoys living in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She is inspired by her surroundings and often paints her favorite places, letting the subject and her mood dictate what media she uses - oil, acrylic, watercolor or pastel. Some of her recent works have explored more abstract ideas using multimedia and collage. Although she originally was an art major, formal schooling took a backseat to a career and raising a family until approximately 2000 when she picked up the brush once again. While she's mainly self-taught in art, Alice continually hones her skills through classes and workshops, which has given her the opportunity to study with many local and nationally known artists. Alice is a member of Iowa Artist and the Iowa Watercolor Society.
