Nanci Griffin

Nanci's interest in art started at a very young age. She graduated from Grandview College with a degree in Visual Arts, worked at Sticks, Inc, and developed her own style and business as an artist. She exhibits and sells her art work at local and regional art shows and festivals.

"My current style emphasizes color, layering, and depth. These techniques enable me to create a light enhancement and glowing effect. To achieve these effects, I utilize a linen canvas and printmaking paper as my foundation as I strive to use high quality products. I apply pure acrylic color, colored pencil, collage, dry brushing, and scratching to create additional texture and depth. I am inspired by Iowa landscapes, unique weather, beautiful skies and personal memories. My goal is to draw interest in the piece. I want to capture the moment and provoke the mood as my work is ever-changing, yet timeless. I want you to see something different and love it even more every time you look at it. This is the reason why I love abstract. You can see different scenes and recount different memories with each encounter."
