Lynn Krause was born in Chicago, Illinois. She studied art at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. After completing art school she worked as a commercial artist in Chicago. In 1968, she moved to Woodstock, Illinois and began painting full time.

Krause has received numerous awards for her work and is represented in collections and galleries around the country.
