The Henry W. Myrtle Gallery carries a wide variety of works of differing media by various artists around the country.

Rita Orr

Rita Orr began work with serigraphs in 1982. Her method of silkscreen printmaking is spontaneous and perhaps primitive to idealists of the medium. Orr uses a one screen reduction process applying glue directly on the screen for the stencil and oil based ink to print the image. The result is a spontaneous interpretation purposely less controlled and more painterly.

"In my work the message is the importance of a center in life: home, family and friends, along with taking time for little indulgences, flowers, music, reasonably good wine and coffee! I think I was born an artist because at an early age I developed the idea that all things aesthetic are essential to human existence."
